Thayil’s Thoughts

Keiraville International Church popularly known as “kic” loves meeting each other, in small gatherings as well as with the larger community gatherings. We believe that these are great opportunities for us to grow and serve as a family. We love to have family, friends, acquaintances and visitors to come by and join us for a great time of food, fellowship, fun and learning about God.
Our vision is that we provide to the seekers a home in Wollongong at all means. It is important for students who come here leaving their homes, to find a new home. Therefore, KIC in many ways is a home, “Home Away From Home” for the international students. All KIC activities are family and community oriented with Christ’s love in action.

The purpose of KIC is not to establish a mega church; however, its sphere of impact is the entire world. So, our vision is based on the strategy of Paul the apostle in the book of Acts, chapter 19. ‘Impacting the world with the love of Jesus by concentrating it on just one particular place.’ We receive students from various countries and we help them to know Jesus in their lives, and sending them back to their home with this love is our mission and purpose. Practically our vision and mission is based on three combined factors: the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ, combined with the teaching and the practice of the apostle Paul.

Commission: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

Teaching: And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. (2 Timothy 2:2)

Practice: He took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. This went on for two years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord. (Acts 19: 9-10)

  • When we go to the university to connect with students for example, we are fulfilling the command of the Lord Jesus Christ to reaching to the nations.
  • When we lead the students to the Lord through our Bible studies and other activities and we train them to be leaders in the family of God and to be further witnesses for Christ. We follow the teachings and practices set out by Paul the apostle.
